Jolie Myers has launched her new website. She’s a photojournalist currently working for the Grand Rapids Press. If you are at all interested in photography, I encourage you to go give the site a look. She posts a new photo at least every couple of days. She also took the time to put in a lot her older photos from January up til now, so there’s already plenty to see on the site.
I did the design and coding for the website. You may remember me mentioning a CakePHP based project in one of my previous posts. Well, this is it.
Let me just say that even though it’s live, it’s still not anywhere near completed. I’ve still got plenty of work to do on the site. As it stands right now, the site has the basic functionality to look through her previous photos and leave comments for any of them. I hope to add some of her multimedia pieces as well as a couple of the photo stories she’s done over the last couple years. Hopefully over the next month or two, I’ll find the time to finish up some of the other features I have planned. And maybe become a little more familiar with CakePHP along the way.
So please check out the site and let me know what you think. Maybe even share some fresh ideas that I might want to try out on the site. Flickr seems to be the only website innovating in the realm of online photography. Photoblogs all look the same to me, so I’d really be interested in trying out new ways to present this type of content.
