Download GridFox 2.0 Alpha release

This is an alpha release and is expected to have bugs. If you run across any problems, please feel free to email me at eric@puidokas.com, or leave a comment below.

Shared Grids

Grids are now shared between all GridFox users. Just try going to Yahoo! News, or Wired. When you toggle GridFox, the correct grids will automatically be loaded from the gridfox.info servers.

Whenever you save a grid, it gets saved for that domain for all users. No need to setup the grid on every computer you use. And the hassle of changing the settings back and forth when you’re working on 2 different sites is gone.

New interface

Preferences menu screenshotThe preferences dialog has been slimmed down to only include the most basic options not related to to settings up your grid.

Grid edit menu screenshotWith this release, you get even more control over your grid. You can now set different line/gutter widths for vertical and horizontal. I’ve also added the ability to offset the grid, so if your site isn’t perfectly left, center, or right aligned its not a problem.

Grid browsing

New GridFox controls screenshotYou can also create multiple grids per site. So if one page has a different grid than another, just save them both. You can use arrows to scroll through all the grids for a domain. And if you want to make sure GridFox always show you the correct grid, just remember to lock it.
