GLCVB Kiosk

I was the lead developer for this project while I worked at Artemis Solutions Group. We created web-based software for the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau (GLCVB) that would run on numerous kiosks placed at high-traffic spots throughout the city of Lansing. The GLCVB wanted to offer a creative and user friendly way to inform visitors to Lansing of events and attractions. To achieve this goal, we came up with an attractive, intuitive touch screen design that allowed visitors to access information on local businesses and events updated directly from the GLCVB’s server. I was responsible for converting the initial design to XHTML and CSS, as well developing the AJAX interface to allow content loading without page refreshes. The project also required integration with data feeds from Lansing.org and FlyLansing.com.
The kiosk was recognized by the AAF and won a silver in the regional ADDY awards.
