Homepage Analysis
The Lowdown homepage decides a user’s first impression of the site and is the initial step in establishing user comprehension of the site’s interface. Because of this, we focused more on the design of the homepage than any other section of the site. The homepage is a compilation of both entertainment articles from our printed edition of The Lowdown and unique web-only entertainment content. Our design of the homepage works to promote this mixture of varying content while still grabbing the user’s interest.
Below you can see some explanations for several design decisions on the homepage. If you would like to compare this with today’s live homepage, head on over to LansingLowdown.com.
